Minutes of IPv6 Project Meeting on August 21, 2015

Peter Lee (PTL of Promise) introduced Promise project, and the suggestion of collaboration in terms of using IPv6 community lab. Iben described status of Spirent Virtual Cloud Test Lab with 12 blade servers, and indicated that he got the block of IPv6 address. He needs someone to help him set up the lab. He also prefers to use Jenkins job for using the resources.

Peter, Sridhar etc. will work with Iben offline regarding access to the lab.

Prakash indicated that Huawei's community lab in Santa Clara and San Jose are still work in progress. Once it is ready, he will share the information.

Bin shared that TSC decided the official B release date would be February 2, 2016. PTLs will work with Debra for planning of milestones and timelines of B release. There will be 2 B Release PTL calls, one at 8am-9am PST Tuesdays, and the other one in the evening of PST to accommodate the time zones in Asia. Bin will forward meeting information to everyone so that they can join and listen if they are interested.

David is still investigating. Bin will share information once the experiment is done.

Sridhar shared what he found in his investigation. He had successfully brought up OpenStack+ODL in his laptop, but very slow. The gaps he found are:
- ODL doesn't support L3 agent for IPv6, while Neutron ML2 L3 agent sends RA (SLAAC) periodically. So PoC 1 diagram needs to be revised.
- Dual Stack support in ODL is on the roadmap for Beryllium.

Sridhar will further investigate more gaps, and draft gap analysis.

Bin will share PoC 1 VSD with Sridhar for revision.

Iben shared a demo of Spirent VCTL.
