  • Next Step

Bin started the topic of our deliverables with regard to integrated package with auto-configuration script on top of Arno. Basically an IPv6-capable ISO.

Bin mentioned the need of a build environment. It may based on Arno, and add our own deploy-ipv6.sh on top of it.

Through discussion, the ISO should include the image, the VM, a set of metadata describing the interface configuration requirement. The installer is expected to configure OpenStack service (e.g. Neutron) using metadata to make the VM an IPv6 router for external connectivity. Conceptually, it is applying PoC#1 to Arno.

There are 2 challenges:
- More concrete proposal, including metadata structure, IPv6-specific consideration, and PoC#1 design
- Implement it on top of Arno

Sridhar indicated that he has had an IPv6 environment, and can share the guidance / instruction.

Action Items:
- Prakash: make a detailed proposal to mailing list by May 1 based on above concept. The more details, the better
- Sridhar: share the guidance/instruction of Ipv6 environment in his lab

The group will discuss the proposal through mailing list, and next meeting in order to have a concrete and stable design of our deliverables.

The Goal is to have a more concrete and stable design by the time Arno is officially released.

  • AOB

Sridhar shared that the patch to disable RA from VM ports https://review.openstack.org/#/c/140046 has been approved and merged into Liberty release. It can be back merged into Kilo.

Meeting adjourned
