Arno RC schedule

Release Target

Arno, the OPNFV inaugural release, intends to be available on the 23rd of April 2015. In order to ensure the release is complete and of sufficient quality a set of release candidate activities have been planned to ensure iterative review and improvement of Arno, tools and documentation during the final month of development.

Release Candidate plan

Mar/26 - System state defined

Apr/2 (RC0) - Release image readiness

  • Code complete (common components frozen, all functionality in place - "OPNFV-INSTALLATION and MAINTENANCE" phase)
  • Scripts for automatic build of a bootable disk ISO image
    (bootable disk ISO image is installed to the "jumphost"; from there, the installation of the other nodes of the system is driven)

Apr/9 (RC1) - Arno deploy run #1

  • Automatic build and install on LF hardware PODs
  • Tempest and Robot test frameworks available on LF hardware

Apr/16 (RC2) - Arno deploy run #2

  • Automatic testing on LF hardware fully functional (FuncTest supplied tests; test infra (tempest, robot) setup independently from installer)

Apr/21 - Arno release artifact creation

  • final release cut

Apr/22 - Release artifact validation

  • Release package available (tested and verified)
    • bootable disk image(s) (ISO) (BGS supplied)
    • Documentation (user guide - describing key functionality supplied, installation procedure, target system state - BGS supplied)
    • Documentation (test scenarios that release complies with - FuncTest supplied)
    • Documentation (hardware guide - Pharos supplied)
